Damn! I wish you did't just spend 3400 yesterday also! Its a nice bike but I'm sure if you spent 3400 on a bike its just as nice also!

Ya I really like the Crankbros headsets also man. I have just always had good luck with pig and they are pretty damn strong!

NO! chris king headsets are bad for creeking a shit load on long travel forks. I can't stand any of my bikes to make any noise at ALL! so I put FSA headset on it and have never had any problems or unwanted noise. Chris King headsets do look pimp though. I'm not saying they are bad at all or everyone of them are going to do that but all my friends make noise and i just did't want to take that chance.

No, I don't have any other forks at the moment.

Pointless? How about stabibilaty and stiffness? I like the 40's so much and was doing nothing but downhill with the bike that I stuck with what I like and knows will perform wonderfuly all the time. You say pointless, I say smart. Now if I was doing just freeride I would have put a single crown on the SX. Any ways as you can see i don't build my bikes with shit componets. and yes I know there are some great single crown forks!

I love the 40 on the SX! this is really the ultimate bike to have. I perfer this over my demo 9 even on the really technical ruff trails.

The Fox 40's all come ajustable. The fox website shows you how to ajust the travel of your fork by moving the placement of your spacers. its really easy and takes like 15 minutes to do. this fork was just rebuilt from the ground up by fox and sent back to me with the travel reduced. I have done this many times with my other fox 40's to achive the best amount of travel and ride highth witch is different for every frame. a Full 8in's may be a little much for some bikes.

All Fox 40's are ajustable with spacers that are already in the fork. Look on the fox website and it shows you how to ajust the travel. Real easy and takes 15 minutes to do. I don't see why it would ever void the warranty of the frame as long as the fork is in it recomended travel.

Yes the fork is lowed to 6" so its not raked out and will not hurt the head tube. bike rides so good with this setup!

colegrove commented under colegrove's photo ( Aug 18, 2009 at 10:32 )
Yep the fork is set a 6 inches so that its not all raked out. you would be ascking for trouble if you left it a 8 eight inches of travel. bike handles like a dream.
